So here goes the first one down the hill.  SRK is looking to exit from IPL relinquishing KKR in its worst phase. (Read it in rediff.com). Investing loads of money in strategic business propositions just because one has it does not make one a business-man. It requires perseverance, constantly making an attempt to revamp things, make conclusive decisions, and most importantly turn around things. And to do that you have to be in there.

No one would have had witnessed the failure as our liquor baron faced last year and is still facing this year. I sincerely wish had it been only IPL, but his “Force India” team is also consistent in grabbing the last two positions in almost all the races. But he is there, after every race talks about the improvement over the last race, after every match talks about the extra advantage gained. And indeed Bangalore Royal Challenger is better than the last year…and “Force India” drivers were about to finish in top ten in few of the races!! He has the conviction in him, the real essence of business within him. I would not be surprised if Royal Challengers would be a champion sometime and Force India driver’s finishes in top ten.

I really don’t know whether SRK would be really leaving his team behind or not, I hold him in high regards for his breath-taking achievements. I would rather wish SRK to hold on as he has the ability to turn around things and he had done this before. Though this time he turned more controversies- multiple captain theory, who will become captain tiff, the coach and ex-captain tussle, etc etc 🙂

And now comes the most important part – I am interested in buying this team provided Mr. SRK fix up the right price. 😀 😀

P.S: For those who don’t know what SRK, KKR & IPL stands for…kindly don’t participate in the buying process 🙂

A boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had phoned in sick one day.
Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee’s home phone number and was greeted with a child’s whisper.

“Hello?”

“Is your daddy home?” he asked.

“Yes,” whispered the small voice.

“May I talk with him?”

The child whispered, “No.”

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, “Is your Mummy there?”

“Yes.”

“May I talk with her?”

Again the small voice whispered, “No.”

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked, “Is anybody else there?”

“Yes,” whispered the child, “a policeman.”

Wondering what a cop would be doing at his employee’s home, the boss asked, “May I speak with the policeman?”

“No, he’s busy”, whispered the child.

“Busy doing what?”

“Talking to Mummy and Daddy and the Fireman,” came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard what sounded like a helicopter through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked, “What is that noise?”

“A hello-copper” answered the whispering voice.

“What is going on there?” demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again, whispering, the child answered, “The search team just landed the hello-copper.”

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, “What are they searching for?”
Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle:
“ME.”

(I wish I could have done something that significant during my childhood days !!! :D)

It often happens that when you look for a solution to a complex problem and when the final solution shapes up, it apparently appears to be very simple!! For the last few days I have ben continuously in a mental battle to arrive at the final solution to a complex business concept. Oh!! For those who don’t know me, I am supposed to be a Business Analyst who is also supposed to provide correct business solutions 🙂..huh!! “Correct”..I mentioned..but god knaws..how I manage to make it correct!! Now thats the trade secret..okay..so..hush!!!

So it happened that I was thinking and thinking. I reached the stage where I am watching TV and multiple debits and credit logic is wandering in my head. I am in shower and I am wondering how this transaction passes through Clearing house. The intricacies of accounting entries eluded me from a comfortable sleep.

Seems this battle-front was not enough, I was also required to work on another business solution which was equally entangled with multiple accounting logic and concepts!! Working towards two business problem confounded me to the core. I need to find the solution – thats it!! I have to do this, I promised myself!

After much deliberations and ramblings, I saw the guiding light for atleast one of the problem. The branch manager of a reputed bank safely guided me to the shore. He explained me the operation part of it, and there I was…..I picked up the pen and paper and drew those logical diagrams (we paid lakhs of rupees to learn that in MBA!! 🙂). And then racked my brain to arrive at the final solution with correct financial adjustment. And when it was completed, WTF, I was simply amazed to discover the solution so simple and clear!! Every notorious financial entry quietly fell into their place!! Such a rocky path to reach a calm and serene spot!! Even though..I am glad..I finally made it. I was a proud Business Analyst now!!

Now all this was to prepare myself for a discussion. And when the discussion started, they gave us the Problem Statement and asked for the Solution. Now to my gape and shock – the problem statement was nowhere near to the problem for which I discovered the solution!! The discussion ended with me saying only one line – “Hi Everyone” !!

The shock left me..but hey, I am a proud Business Analyst!! What the heck, I churned out the solution for a problem..how does it matter what the problem statement was 🙂

And for the second problem, I have already formulated the solution – Not to think about the problem anymore 😀!! All my dexterity is at stake..but who cares..its the weekend!!

Last month I posted one post seeking an answer to the question: What is true love? I dint receive much answers 😦 , but the answers I received were truly great 🙂 !! Thanku Arial & Pinky 🙂

The reason why I am revisiting this now is because I came across a list of answers which defines love from the best of the lot – a group of children spanning from age 4-8!! Even though my question was on a different platform but these definition of love framed in these petite children surpasses the significance of my question.

I don’t know the real source but I received this as one of those thousand forwards we get bombarded with in our mail-box. But this is really heart-touching and I am sure the answers given are broader and deeper than anyone could imagine, esp if it comes from the baby lot!!

The question was posed to a group of 4-8 year-olds – “What does love mean?” Here are the answers…and there is not one, not two, not even ten amazing answers..there are more than that…..!!

‘When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore.

So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love..’

                              Rebecca- age 8

‘When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different.

You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.’

                               Billy – age 4

‘Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.’

                               Karl – age 5

‘Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.’

                              Chrissy – age 6

‘Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.’

                               Terri – age 4

‘Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.’

                               Danny – age 7

‘Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more.

My Mommy and Daddy are like that.. They look gross when they kiss’

                               Emily – age 8

‘Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.’

                           Bobby – age 7 (Wow!)

‘If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,’

Nikka – age 6 (we need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet)

‘Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.’

                              Noelle – age 7

‘Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.’

                               Tommy – age 6

‘My mommy loves me more than anybody You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night..’

                               Clare – age 6

‘Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.’

                               Elaine-age 5

‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.’

                               Chris – age 7

‘Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.’

                             Mary Ann – age 4

‘When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.’ (what an image)

                               Karen – age 7

‘Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.’

                               Mark – age 6

‘You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.’

                              Jessica – age 8

And this one is really heart-touching:

Ken is a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife.

Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said,

‘Nothing, I just helped him cry’

I can see your face….even I was gaped in awe and amazed!! Truly amazing, na?

It was a daily routine, like the way we wake up everyday & perform our daily mundane duties. She religiously visits the sea shore near her home daily without fail. There was a hope in her eyes, an immortal hope that never ceased to exist. He will meet his promise and will meet her at this very place.

Its been several months now. She closed her eyes and her mind wandered through the past. The memories are yet so green like it happened just yesterday. How she use to hate him initially, when she caught him staring at her invariably. He came on a visit to his grandmother.

She met him at this very place. It was a lovely sunset, and she was taking a stroll. He was sitting their all alone and watching the sun disappear. They both looked at each other and then he walked to her. And then everything turned out so different when they interacted with each other. The casual talk became the casual banter; the casual banter became interesting conversations. Before they could have realized, they found each other in their arms. And then it became evident, they looked into each other eyes. There was a flame of passion, the undying love in his eyes. She melted and whispered the inevitable.

Next day, she found that he is leaving. There were so many unanswered questions in her mind. Their eyes met and he nodded. She could read his eyes. He will be back…yes he will come back for me!!!

Its been 6 months now and there have not been a single phone call from him, leave aside the hope of coming back. But she never budged, the only hope that he will come back to her kept her moving. The sun immersed in the sea, the stars came out shining. Its time for her to return now, only to come back tomorrow. She walked back with a heavy heart again, but with an undying hope that he will be back tomorrow.

“Let me ask you something. If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience? Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient? If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous? If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?” [Picked from the movie “Evan Almighty”]

These lines are actually worth thinking over. If we perceive our hurdles and obstacles in alignment to this thought, then we can clearly see the guiding light. If we pray for happiness, we get the opportunity to be happy!!!

I would look forward to utilize every opportunity to be happy!! How about you folks??
